Job summary

Lam Research in Batu Kawan, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Training Manager to lead technical training across its global operations. You will direct course design, certification programs, and talent development for operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors.

  • In this role, you and your team will coordinate and deliver technical training content to new and existing Lam Manufacturing employees.
  • You will have an opportunity to combine a passion for training with leading and developing a diverse team that focuses on training delivery and program management.
  • You will lead the development of the Manufacturing Training Team local execution strategy and contribute to creating alignment with global strategies.
  • The successful candidate is an experienced technical training manager with proven good trackrecords on technical training onboarding and upskilling programs.
  • In addition, candidates must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, have a passion for learning, and be committed to developing and retaining top training delivery and program management.
What you’ll do
  • Directs the activities of employee training in the operation of company products by planning course design and support all relevant documentation.
  • Ensures training programs meet company objectives and maintains communication with stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of training.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical training and certification programs to build workforce capability across manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to identify training needs, close skill gaps, and support new product introduction (NPI), production ramp-ups,and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic partner with manufacturing leadership to ensure learning solutions are in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Manage training systems, records, learning management tools, and training effectiveness metrics to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Deploy and execute globally aligned training standards, processes, KPIs, and records management strategies for training department.
  • Proactively ensure the coordination of training delivery and that the team is adequately staffed for uninterrupted execution especially during hiring ramps.
  • Establish and maintain role-based competency frameworks, skills matrices, qualification standards, and recertification requirements for operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
Who we’re looking for
  • Strong demonstration of technical knowledge in semiconductor industry and in the role for minimum 8 years.
  • Success in this role requires being action-oriented and customer-focused, adjusting to changing priorities, and working independently while maintaining a high degree of accountability and accuracy of work.
  • Additional skills and experience beneficial for this role include experience supporting manufacturing environments, knowledge of SAP or other production systems.
Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience is required with 8-10 years of technical training experience within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Instructional design experience with deep understanding of learning and development principles and methodologies.
