Job summary

Cisco Systems in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and deliver customer-focused software solutions.

You will develop in Python and the MEAN stack, build RESTful APIs, and create web apps with Angular/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.

You will work with PostgreSQL/MySQL and MongoDB, mentor teammates, and support pre-sales with demonstrations and proofs of concept.

Strong communication in English and Japanese; 6+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Japanese Speaker - Proficiency
• BE/B.Tech/BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent, with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in Python development, automation and scripting. Strong experience with the MEAN stack: MongoDB, Express.js, Angular and Node.js.
• Experience developing full-stack web applications and RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with Agile, DevOps and SDLC.
• Strong software design, Object-Oriented Programming and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Git, Linux/Unix and unit testing.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, JSON/XML and REGEX.
• Exposure to network automation, NETCONF, RESTCONF, YANG and networking concepts is desirable.
• Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
