Job summary

AIA Shared Services Malaysia is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to be the technical and analytical point of contact for internal stakeholders, digital platform partners, and vendors’ engineering teams.   • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting system implementation and collaborating with developers and QA teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Ability to create wireframes or mock-ups to support user testing and solution design.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary Business Analyst and Product Specialist for digital platforms and solutions.
  • Partner with solution vendors to review new features and influence enhancements.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather detailed requirements and identify pain points.
  • Translate business needs into BRDs and user stories.
  • Maintain version control and coordinate updates across cross-functional teams.
  • Apply analytical thinking to identify optimization opportunities and propose improvements.
  • Configure solution platforms by setting up workflows, rules, and integrations.
  • Execute production configuration changes following change management protocols.
  • Drive end-to-end implementation of digital projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Validate configurations against requirements and maintain documentation for audits.
  • Design, execute, and manage detailed test cases for functional and non-functional scenarios.
  • Lead UAT sessions and post-production verification.
  • Consolidate defect lists and ensure issues are tracked and resolved.
  • Collaborate with vendor teams during testing and post-launch verification.
  • Organize quick meetings for urgent discussions.
  • Develop training materials and sessions for user adoption.
  • Work with IT Security, Risk, and Compliance to meet governance standards.

About the Role

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will serve as the technical and analytical point of contact for internal stakeholders, digital platform partners, and vendors’ engineering teams. You will be involved in every stage of the solution lifecycle — from requirement collection to concept design, testing, acceptance sign-off, and training — playing a key role in delivering innovative solutions. Additionally, you will develop expertise in core vendor systems, manage configuration changes, and provide consultative guidance to business users on system capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary Business Analyst and Product Specialist for digital platforms and solutions, ensuring seamless collaboration between internal stakeholders, digital partners, and vendor engineering teams.
  • Partner with solution vendors to review new features, provide actionable feedback, and influence enhancements that align with business objectives.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with business users and technical stakeholders to gather detailed requirements, analyse processes, and identify pain points for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured documentation by creating solution proposals, Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and user stories.
  • Maintain strict version control and proactively coordinate updates across cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Apply strong analytical thinking to identify optimization opportunities and propose innovative solutions that enhance system performance and streamline processes.
  • Configure solution platforms by setting up workflows, rules, and integrations to meet business requirements.
  • Execute production configuration changes while adhering to change management protocols to minimize risk.
  • Drive end-to-end implementation of digital projects, from initiation through delivery, by coordinating technical activities, monitoring progress, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Validate configurations against requirements and maintain comprehensive documentation for audits and future reference.
  • Design, execute, and manage detailed test cases covering functional and non-functional scenarios.
  • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions to ensure solutions meet quality and business objectives while performing post-production verification.
  • Consolidate and manage defect lists from digital partners and internal teams, ensuring all issues are accurately documented, tracked, and resolved within agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with vendor technical teams and digital partners during testing phases and conduct post-launch verification to confirm successful implementation and system stability.
  • Organize and facilitate quick meetings for urgent discussions, enabling timely decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to support user adoption and smooth transition to new systems.
  • Work with IT Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure all solutions meet regulatory, security, and governance standards.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relatedield.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting system implementation and collaborating with developers and QA teams to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Basic understanding of system analysis and design principles.
  • Ability to create wireframes or mock‑ups to support user testing and solution design.
  • Results oriented –able to identify the core of a problem, define what needs to be done and execute with the teams to deliver.
  • Ability to build relationships in an international environmentwith a diverse groupofinternal and external stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Proficiencyin English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Exposuretostart‑up environment or digital insurance businesswillbean added advantage.
