Job summary

Grab is seeking a seasoned Technical Accountant to drive IFRS-compliant financial reporting for significant M&A activities and complex transactions. You will work within the Technical Accounting Group (TAG) to prepare position papers, support purchase price allocations, and ensure accurate reflection in the financial statements.

The role is based in Grab's Malaysia office in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, offering engagement with a fast-paced tech company and opportunities to influence regional

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical accounting, external audit, or financial reporting with IFRS exposure. Big Four experience advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent ability to collaborate and explain complex accounting concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• IFRS compliance: Ensure the Group’s financial statements comply with IFRS.
• Financial reporting: Prepare accounting memos on initial classification and measurement for newly identified accounting issues.
• Quarter-end closing: Support the quarter-end closing process by ensuring all accounting items relating to significant transactions and the valuation of financial instruments are accurately recorded and reported.
• Technical expertise: Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the finance team and other stakeholders.
• Audit support: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors on technical accounting documentation.
• Process improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial reporting process.
• Team collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and tax, to ensure the accurate application of accounting standards and have exposure to senior finance leadership, including the Chief Accounting Officer.
