Job summary

Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd is seeking a Team Leader – Quay Crane to lead a skilled team of technicians in safe and efficient operation of quay crane equipment. The role emphasizes performance, safety, and continuous improvement within terminal operations.

Key responsibilities include supervising daily operations, maintenance planning, and developing the team, while ensuring HSSE compliance and strong collaboration with contractors and OEMs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' engineering experience, preferably in heavy equipment or port operations.
• Strong knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Proficient in English and Malay (verbal and written) and computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of technicians in daily operations, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Foster a strong safety culture, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and ensure compliance with all HSSE requirements.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, supervise contractors and OEMs, and verify all work meets quality standards.
• Conduct system inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement improvement initiatives to enhance crane reliability.
• Provide on-the-job training, identify skill gaps, and support the professional growth of your team.
• Assist in planning, evaluate breakdown reports, prepare warranty claims, and step in as Duty Manager when required.
