Job summary

Infosys Limited in Malaysia seeks a Tax Subject Matter Expert to handle day-to-day VAT and sales tax activities, drive transformation projects, and act as the main client contact for operational issues.

The role requires a university degree in commerce, professional qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent), and 6+ years in tax with strong knowledge of income tax laws and leadership abilities. English fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• University graduate with minimum of 15 years of education and Bachelors/Masters Degree in Commerce.
• CA / CPA / Equivalent Qualified or Accountants required with 6+ years of experience.
• Good knowledge of Income Tax laws and tax concepts.
• Proven people management skills.
• Experience in process simplification / transformation.
• Strong team leading and motivational skills, performance reporting and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Perform and act as SME for day-to-day Tax activities across VAT, Sales Tax and other taxes.
• Identify and execute transformation projects for process efficiency.
• Act as single point of contact for client for operational issues.
• Train team members on processes and domain requirements.
• Serve as knowledge manager with documentation and version control.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and SLAs.
• Deploy process controls, QA plans and risk mitigation initiatives.
• Manage delivery of Tax services per the agreement.
• Follow documented procedures and maintain stakeholder communications.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tax compliance efficiency.

• Perform and act as SME day to day Tax activities with required speed and accuracy across various tax process such as VAT, Sales Tax and other
• Identify and execute transformation projects
• Act as single point of contact for client (for Operational issues)
• Train team members on various processes and domain related requirements
• Act as a knowledge manager (Documentation, updating, version control)
• Ensure quality of the deliverables and adhering to SLAs
• Deploy and monitor process controls, quality assurance plans and risk mitigation initiatives
• Manage delivery of Tax services as per the agreement
• Follow the documented procedures, understanding of Client processes, active team player with good communication and documentation skills
• Support of continuous improvement initiatives with a view to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Tax Compliance Process

Experience and Qualification:
