Job summary

PKF Malaysia is seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing tax practice in Kuala Lumpur. You will manage a portfolio of corporate and individual tax engagements, ensuring compliance and timely filings while progressively gaining exposure to advisory work, structuring, and tax controversies.

You will collaborate with senior team members to deliver practical, commercially focused tax solutions, build strong client relationships, and mentor junior colleagues in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CTIM/CTA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
• 5–7 years in tax compliance within a professional services firm.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws; advisory experience is a plus.
• Interest in developing advisory skills and transitioning to broader tax roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of corporate and individual tax compliance engagements.
• Review tax computations, returns and statutory filings for accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax laws and deadlines.
• Identify tax risks and escalate to Directors as needed.
• Engage in tax advisory, structuring, cross-border and SST matters.
• Assist in audits, investigations, and disputes with tax authorities.
• Prepare advisory deliverables with research and technical reports.
• Interpret tax laws to support compliance and advisory work.
• Lead engagements with timelines and budgets, ensuring quality.
• Mentor junior staff and share technical guidance.
• Support business development and cross-selling within clients.
