Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Senior Associate to support tax compliance advisory services for clients in various industries. You will compile tax returns, conduct related compliance tasks, and work with team members on complex tax matters.

The role requires strong English and Bahasa Malaysia, solid organizational skills, and at least 4 years in professional services. Candidates must be Malaysia-based with rights to work in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting/Economics/Tax or professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/MIA/MICPA).
• At least 4 years of working experience in a professional services firm.
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good teamwork and willingness to share responsibilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to tax compliance advisory services for clients in various industries.
• Compile and prepare tax returns and conduct related tasks including compliance, reporting, tax management, risk, and control assessment.
• Conduct research and consult with team members on various tax matters.
• Work closely with clients and liaise with government agencies (e.g., Inland Revenue Board, Ministry of Finance).
• Handle ad hoc matters as necessary.

Work you’ll do

• Provide support to tax compliance advisory services for clients in various industries
• Compile and prepare tax returns as well as conduct the following tasks - compliance and reporting, tax management and risk, as well as control assessment
• Conduct research and consult with team members on various tax matters
• Work closely with clients and liaise with various government agencies e.g. Inland Revenue Board, Ministry of Finance and other government agencies
• Any other ad hoc matters where necessary

Requirements

• Possess minimum a Bachelor Degree in related disciplines such as Accounting/Economics/Tax or Professional Qualification (CPA/ACCA/MIA/MICPA)
• With at least 4 years working experience preferably in a professional services firm
• Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Possess good organizational skills and able to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines
• A strong team player and willing to share responsibilities as a team
• Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft office
