Job summary

Deloitte Malaysia is seeking experienced tax professionals to lead and deliver high‑quality tax services. You will manage tax groups, oversee returns, and drive compliance and risk management for multinational clients across diverse industries.

You will collaborate with clients and government agencies, mentor teams, and develop tax planning strategies. Strong leadership, analytical skills, and a global mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in professional services, commercial or financial services (Big 4 experience is an advantage).
• University degree majoring in tax, accounting, finance or related fields; Professionally certified with a professional accountancy membership body is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax groups to deliver seamless tax services to clients.
• Review tax returns and conduct compliance, reporting, risk, and control assessments.
• Conduct research and consult with team members on tax matters.
• Liaise with government agencies (e.g., Inland Revenue Board, Ministry of Finance).
• Lead teams on client engagements, developing tax solutions and strategies for multinational clients.

Work You’ll Do

• Manage business tax groups with a view to delivering seamless tax services to clients
• Reviewing tax returns as well as conduct the following tasks - compliance and reporting, tax management and risk, as well as control assessment
• Conduct research and consult with team members on various tax matters
• Work closely with clients and liaise with various government agencies e.g. Inland Revenue Board, Ministry of Finance and other government agencies
• Lead teams on various client engagements in developing tax solutions, tax planning and strategies for multinational clients across a broad range of industries

Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience, working in professional services, commercial or financial services environment (Big 4 experience is an advantage).
• University degree majoring in tax, accounting, finance or related fields;
• Professionally certified with a professional accountancy membership body such as ACCA/ MICPA/CPA/CTIM is an advantage
• Strong command of verbal and written English & Bahasa Malaysia;
• Good analytical, research, interpersonal skills and leadership qualities; and
• Extensive technical experience, with an industry focus is a plus.

Candidates must be resident in Malaysia, or have the right to work in Malaysia.
