PerkinElmer is seeking a Systems Test Engineer in Malaysia to evaluate Value Analysis/Value Engineering initiatives for existing products and to support strategic quality goals across NPIs and instrument platforms.

The role involves system-level testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis on customer-returned instruments, determining root causes, validating corrective actions, and delivering recommendations to improve product quality and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.
2–5 years analytical instrumentation experience.
Statistical analysis capabilities a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; requires interaction with managers, supervisors, engineers in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and take ownership of projects, performing job requirements with minimal oversight and attention to detail.
Positive attitude, high energy and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

Lead and support VAVE activities, including technical evaluation, testing, validation, and implementation of cost-reduction and value-engineering opportunities while maintaining product quality, performance, and reliability.
Responsible for system-level testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of customer-returned instruments and components, including RMA and DOA cases. Investigate reported issues, identify root causes, validate corrective actions, and provide technical recommendations to improve product quality and reliability.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) transfer activities from development into production, including verification of product performance, test requirements, test methods, and readiness of test stations and processes to ensure a smooth transition to manufacturing.
Work closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and other cross-functional teams to support product development, product transfer, cost reduction, quality improvement, and customer issue resolution.
Log, track, and maintain records of defects, test results, investigation findings, and corrective actions, ensuring issues are properly documented and followed through to closure.
