Job summary

Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd is seeking a Sustainability Analyst to support the preparation of the Annual Sustainability Statement as part of the Integrated Annual Report, and to collect, validate, and analyze data across departments for accurate reporting.

You will assist with IFRS S1 reporting alignment and monitor regulatory developments in Malaysia and key markets, translating requirements into practical recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, reporting, strategy, business analysis, or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data and derive business insights.
• Knowledge of IFRS S1/S2, GRI, SASB, FTSE or other ESG reporting standards is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the Company's Annual Sustainability Statement as part of the Integrated Annual Report.

• Coordinate Sustainability Working Committee and Steering Committee meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Respond to sustainability questionnaires, surveys, and information requests from stakeholders.
• Conduct research and analysis on topics like climate initiatives and decarbonisation to support management decisions.

Support the preparation of the Company's Annual Sustainability Statement as part of the Integrated Annual Report.

Collect, validate, and analyse sustainability data from various departments to ensure accurate and complete reporting.

Support the Company's transition to IFRS S1 reporting in compliance with Bursa Malaysia and National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sustainability Reporting

• Support the preparation of the Company's Annual Sustainability Statement as part of the Integrated Annual Report.

• Collect, validate, and analyse sustainability data from various departments to ensure accurate and complete reporting.

• Support the Company's transition to IFRS S1 reporting in compliance with Bursa Malaysia and National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF) requirements.

2. Sustainability Standards & Regulatory Monitoring

• Stay up to date with sustainability frameworks and standards, including IFRS S1/S2, GRI, SASB, and FTSE.

• Monitor regulatory developments across Malaysia and key global markets, and assess potential business impacts.

• Translate new sustainability requirements into practical recommendations and reporting actions.

3. Committee & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate monthly Sustainability Working Committee meetings involving cross‑functional teams such as HR, Finance, Facilities, and HSE.

• Coordinate quarterly Sustainability Steering Committee meetings with senior management and business leaders.

• Prepare meeting materials, track action items, and ensure timely follow‑up.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

• Respond to sustainability‑related questionnaires, surveys, and information requests from customers, investors, regulators, and external stakeholders.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

5. Sustainability Analysis & Improvement

• Conduct research and analysis on sustainability topics such as climate‑related initiatives, decarbonisation, and SBTi.

• Prepare reports and presentations to support management decision‑making.

• Identify improvement opportunities and support sustainability initiatives across the organisation.

6. Strategy & Special Projects

• Provide analytical and project coordination support for corporate strategy, transformation, and sustainability‑related projects.

• Support ad‑hoc business initiatives and continuous improvement activities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 3‑5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, reporting, strategy, business analysis, or related fields.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data and derive business insights.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as IFRS S1/S2, GRI, SASB, FTSE, or other ESG reporting standards is an added advantage.

• Strong research skills with the ability to interpret regulatory developments and provide practical recommendations.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
