Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure supplier processes and products meet Lam quality standards. You will design QA programs, analyze production data, and drive improvements on-site at supplier locations, collaborating with global teams to deliver reliable semiconductor equipment.

The role requires a strong electronics/PCB background, 10+ years in managing complex programs, and fluency in English.

The impact you’ll make

As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.

What You’ll Do

• This position performs supplier development, program/project management, cross-functional team alignment functions for key initiatives in the Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET)Group. SET is a global organization that innovates in manufacturing technology, materials technology, and supply chain quality for next-generation semiconductor process equipment.
• Developing Suppliers to meet Lam quality standards.
• Interfacing with key teams within Lam including technical product groups, account teams and global operations as a representative of SET.
• Influencing decisions and company driven objectives within internal and external groups to achieve company goals.
• Provide seamless interface with SET global commodity heads to account teams and other members of SET.
• Providing leadership to supplier engineers within Lam as a cross-functional team leader
• Organizing and owning internal and external Review Meetings.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing technical programs and projects, preferably in the Semiconductor Industry
• Manage supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), 8D investigations, containment actions, and root cause analysis efforts to rapidly resolve quality issues and drive systemic improvements.
• PCB/PCBA design engineering and manufacturing knowledge - PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes, including PCB fabrication technologies, soldering processes, AOI, SPI, ICT, flying probe, functional test, X-ray inspection, and reliability testing methodologies
• Understanding of Printed Circuit Board fabrication and design for manufacturability (DFM & DFA)
• Experience using Valor, Cadence Allegro, CAM350 or similar tool
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-6012, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721) and electronics industry quality requirements are highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of SPC, Cpk, DOE, GR&R (MSA), 5-Why, 6S/7W, t/F tests, box plots, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams
• Proficient in written and verbal communication (English).

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
