Job summary

Lam Research Corporation is seeking a seasoned Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to drive supplier quality programs and ensure PCBA manufacturing processes meet stringent quality standards. You will design inspection methods, analyze data, and collaborate with global suppliers to resolve technical and production challenges.

Responsibilities include leading supplier audits, transition activities, and cross-functional alignment within the SET group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of PCB/PCBA design and manufacturing experience.

You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.What you’ll doSupplier development, program/project management, cross-functional team alignment functions for key initiatives in the Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) Group. Our group in SET is responsible for innovation and problem-solving in PCBA manufacturing, test, supplier quality, supply chain design, and material & supplier selection, development, and technologyDeveloping and onboarding PCBA Suppliers to meet Lam quality standards.Leading supplier process audits, manufacturing capability assessments, capacity reviews, and quality system evaluations. Identify risks and drive closure of audit findings.Leading PCBA supplier transition activities from NPI to production and/or multi-sourcing of PCBAsInterfacing with key teams within Lam including technical product groups, account teams and global operations as a representative of SETInfluencing decisions and company-driven objectives within internal and external groups to achieve goalsProviding seamless interface with SET global commodity heads to account teams and other members of SETOrganizing and owning internal and external Review Meetings.Who we’re looking forPCB/PCBA manufacturing knowledge and design for manufacturability (DFM & DFA)- PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes,including PCB fabrication technologies,SMT assembly processes, Reflow soldering, SPI, Wave/selective solder, AOI, ICT, flying probe, BGA, QFN, CSP assembly, X-ray inspection, Underfill/conformal coating, Press-fit technologies,High-density and high-layer-count PCBAs, functional test, and reliability testing methodologiesExperienced with interpreting electrical schematics, assembly drawings, Gerber files, fabrication notes, and engineering documentation, and can effectively communicate technical requirements with suppliersIPC standards fluency: IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721,IPC-6012; ability to apply acceptability criteria directly in supplier audits and non-conformance disposition.Cleanliness and contamination control requirements (ionic contamination testing, no-clean vs. wash processes)Manage supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), 8D investigations, containment actions, and root cause analysis efforts to rapidly resolve quality issues and drive systemic improvementsExperience using Valor, Cadence Allegro, CAM350 or similar toolWorking knowledge of SPC, Cpk, DOE, GR&R (MSA), 5-Why, 6S/7W, t/F tests, box plots, 8D, Ishikawa diagramsWorking knowledge of electronic component qualification, ESD controls, moisture sensitivity (MSL), counterfeit mitigation, component traceability, and failure analysis methodologies.Familiarity with component lifecycle management, alternate qualification, and obsolescence risk mitigation.Proficient in written and verbal communication (English).Ability and willingness to travel globally to supplier manufacturing locations as required.Preferred qualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent.Minimum 10 years’ experience in PCB/PCBA design/manufacturing, supplier quality, preferably in the Semiconductor IndustryOur commitmentWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
