Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Kulim is seeking a Supplier Engineer to collaborate with New Product Development and New Product Introduction teams.

You will ensure engineering drawings are clear for suppliers and drive design for manufacturability, while exploring alternate processes to improve cost, quality and reliability. You will participate in supplier selection and manage quality issues, helping build a competitive supply base and resolve incidents with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Understanding of engineering drawing requirements and supplier communication.
• Ability to analyze data and communicate technical information clearly.
• Experience with supplier qualification and cost/quality improvements.

Responsibilities

• Work with NPI teams to ensure drawing requirements are clear to suppliers.
• Involve suppliers in development and review of specs for manufacturability.
• Use project management and quality tools to explore cost and quality improvements.
• Support supplier selection to build a competitive, capable supply base.
• Assist with quality problem resolutions and incident management.
