Job summary

VAT Group AG in Malaysia seeks a Supplier Development and Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality and development across manufacturing and supply chains.

You will lead qualification, audits, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Development.
• Knowledge of quality tools including 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA & GD&T.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong hands-on machining knowledge (CNC milling and turning) with 3-5 years of relevant experience is highly preferred.
• Possess material and surface treatment knowledge is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve supplier quality performance through KPI tracking and regular reviews.
• Execute end to end supplier qualification process from technical feasibility review to process capability validation and production readiness audits
• Lead supplier audits, assessments, and qualification activities.
• Support category managers in supplier selection process by providing capability and risk assessment.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and supplier onboarding activities.
• Analyze quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate supply chain quality risks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and customer requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance supplier capability and process effectiveness.
• Own and execute the change management process, including engineering changes, transfer projects and localization activities.
