Job summary

Flowserve Corporation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a GL Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of accountants in US GAAP close, reconciliations, and monthly reporting, while supporting audits.

You will supervise a 6–8 person team, drive transition of GL responsibilities to the Shared Service Center, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate with site controllers to ensure accurate, timely financial statements and KPI attainment.

Qualifications

• Must have US GAAP and IFRS knowledge.
• Experience leading a team in a shared service center or growth phase.
• Proven ability to motivate and develop people.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• BS/BA degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6-8 accountants in day-to-day work.
• Supervise month-end closing, reconciliations, and US GAAP accounting.
• Coordinate with site controllers to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Manage workload and meet month-end deadlines and KPI targets.
• Develop and maintain internal controls; promote operational excellence.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure end-to-end processes in the region/sites.
• Maintain good relationships with site leadership to ensure healthy service levels.
• Transition GL responsibilities from US/EU sites to Shared Service Center.

Role Summary: As an GL Accounting Supervisor, you will lead a team of accountants in assigned US GAAP accounting, including accruals, account reconciliation, recurring journal entries, consolidation, ad-hoc queries, and adjustments. You lead the team in month-end closings, reconciliations, and audit processes.
Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Along with the transition team, supervise a team to transition general ledger responsibilities from US or EU sites into the Shared Service center.


• Supervise a team of 6-8 accountants in day-to-day work.


• Supervise the day-to-day accounting, month end closing processes and account reconciliations under US-GAAP.


• Work with the site controllers to ensure accurate and controlled financial statements for their site.


• Support internal and external audits.


• Responsible for balancing team workload and ensuring month-end deadlines and other KPI targets are met for the team.


• Help develop an environment and culture that supports the attraction and retention of quality talent.


• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls for the center’s operations.


• Build a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.


• Work cross functionally to ensure end-to-end processes work within the assigned region or sites.


• Maintain a good relationship with site leadership to ensure a healthy service level.
