Job summary

Flowserve Solutions (Malaysia) SDN BHD is seeking a GL Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of accountants handling US GAAP accounting, including accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close. The supervisor will guide transition of general ledger responsibilities from US/EU sites into the Shared Service center and ensure accurate, timely financial statements with site controllers.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting or finance with relevant experience.
• US GAAP and IFRS knowledge required.
• Experience in ramp-up phase or growth of a service center.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6-8 accountants in day-to-day work.
• Supervise month-end closings, reconciliations, and audits.
• Oversee transition of GL responsibilities to Shared Service center.
• Work with site controllers to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Balance workload and meet month-end deadlines and KPIs.

Role Summary:

As an GL Accounting Supervisor, you will lead a team of accountants in assigned US GAAP accounting, including accruals, account reconciliation, recurring journal entries, consolidation, ad-hoc queries, and adjustments. You lead the team in month-end closings, reconciliations, and audit processes.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Along with the transition team, supervise a team to transition general ledger responsibilities from US or EU sites into the Shared Service center.
• Supervise a team of 6-8 accountants in day-to-day work.
• Supervise the day-to-day accounting, month end closing processes and account reconciliations under US-GAAP.
• Work with the site controllers to ensure accurate and controlled financial statements for their site.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Responsible for balancing team workload and ensuring month-end deadlines and other KPI targets are met for the team.
• Help develop an environment and culture that supports the attraction and retention of quality talent.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls for the center’s operations.
• Build a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Work cross functionally to ensure end-to-end processes work within the assigned region or sites.
• Maintain a good relationship with site leadership to ensure a healthy service level.

Preferred Experience / Skills:
