Job summary

MFE Port Klang is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement, materials planning, inventory coordination and logistics. You will ensure reliable material availability, cost-effective sourcing, and timely deliveries to support manufacturing and customer requirements, while driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include strategic sourcing, supplier audits, contract negotiations, and performance management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement and supply chain experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably aluminium, metal fabrication, building materials or a related industry.
• Knowledge of international purchasing, import procedures, logistics and Incoterms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review supply chain strategies, policies and procedures aligned with operational requirements and company objectives.
• Oversee all procurement activities including metal, non-metal, and logistics sourcing.
• Lead sourcing, evaluation, selection and qualification of local and overseas suppliers.
• Develop alternative sources for critical materials to reduce supply disruption.
• Review supplier performance in quality, delivery, pricing, capacity and responsiveness.
• Coordinate audits of manufacturing suppliers in Malaysia and overseas with Quality and Engineering, and follow up corrective actions to closure.
• Lead negotiations on prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and contractual conditions.
• Monitor market conditions and material price movements to identify purchasing opportunities and manage cost exposure.
• Deliver measurable cost savings while maintaining required quality and service standards.
• Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, order tracking and delivery coordination.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve shortages, delayed deliveries and urgent purchasing requirements.
• Review requisitions against available stock and equipment before committing to new purchases; allocate requirements and follow through to completion.
• Coordinate forecasts and material requirements with Sales, Planning and Production, aligning purchasing and delivery schedules with manufacturing demand.
• Lead regular supply and demand reviews to resolve shortages, capacity constraints and changing priorities.
• Manage stores and planning to maintain stock levels and minimise excess or obsolete inventory.
• Maintain inventory and asset records; coordinate cycle counts, stocktakes and annual verification.
• Coordinate disposal of obsolete assets and ensure records are updated.
• Coordinate aluminium stock requirements, availability and inventory issues with Operations and Planning.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with suppliers, freight forwarders, Stores and Operations; track delivery commitments.
• Review freight costs, lead times and transport performance; consolidate shipments where possible.
• Ensure equipment readiness before dispatch and coordinate timely movements with relevant teams.
• Manage lease agreements, security arrangements and service providers; coordinate ESG data for reporting.
• Develop and implement process improvements; ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop purchasing and cost estimation teams; set KPIs and foster a high-performance environment.
• Prepare supply chain reports and monitor performance against targets; collaborate with stakeholders.
