Job summary

Rapid Growth Technology Sdn. Bhd. (RGT) seeks a procurement/ sourcing specialist in Penang to lead localization projects, manage supplier performance and drive cost reduction across overseas spend.

You will engage with leadership, perform market research, and implement value engineering programs to improve quality and delivery at optimal cost. The role requires a bachelor’s or higher in engineering or supply chain, with 2 years experience for diploma holders.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree or above in engineering or supply chain or equivalent.
• Diploma in Engineering or supply chain with at least 2 years of related experience is acceptable.
• Knowledge in ERP and MS Office is required.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Chinese language proficiency (reading and speaking) to support international clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform market analysis and localization projects, monitor suppliers and processes to reduce overseas spend.
• Evaluate supplier base against current and anticipated requirements.
• Identify cost drivers using market research and benchmarking.
• Lead sourcing activities to deliver productivity improvements.
• Develop sourcing strategy focusing on quality, price, delivery and service.
• Drive cost-down and value engineering (VAVE) projects.
• Negotiate RFQ responses and implement supporting work plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for supplier evaluation and audits.
• Invite scrap collectors monthly, arrange activities, and witness scrapping.
• Perform other duties as needed by supervisor.
