Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a seasoned Purchasing Manager for an industrial manufacturer in Shah Alam, Malaysia. You will lead end-to-end procurement, manage supplier relationships, drive cost reductions, and ensure alignment with production schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8-10 years of procurement or sourcing experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement operations and supplier relationships across local and international markets.
• Experience sourcing raw materials, fabricated components, industrial equipment, or engineering-related products is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and procurement best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies to source raw materials, production components, machinery, and indirect purchases while optimizing cost, quality, and lead times.
• Lead end-to-end procurement activities including supplier sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, tender management, evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier consolidation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and risk assessments to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Warehouse, Engineering to align procurement with production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and material availability to prevent disruptions while optimizing carrying costs.
• Lead governance and compliance, ensuring procurement activities meet policies and regulatory requirements.
