Job summary

SF Global Express (M) Sdn Bhd seeks a senior procurement leader to shape and execute strategic sourcing across transport, warehousing, facilities and services. You will manage a diverse vendor portfolio, drive cost optimization, and negotiate favorable terms while ensuring quality and compliance.

The role requires 8+ years in procurement with logistics industry experience, leadership skills, and fluency in Mandarin and English to engage with Mandarin-speaking clients and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of procurement experience, with proven experience in a managerial or leadership role.
• Hands-on experience in the logistics and supply chain industry is strongly preferred/required.
• Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations, cost structures and business requirements.
• Proven experience in project procurement / project-based purchasing and managing procurement for operational projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume and large-scale vendor portfolios across multiple categories.
• Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, budgeting and financial control.
• Good understanding of contract terms, basic contract law and commercial negotiation tactics.
• Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to guide and develop a team.
• We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients. English language proficiency is also a must.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic procurement strategies aligned with business and logistics operational needs.
• Lead project-based purchasing for transportation, warehousing, facilities, equipment, services and other business projects.
• Manage a large and diverse vendor portfolio, covering sourcing, qualification, evaluation, performance management and relationship management.
• Drive cost optimization, competitive sourcing and commercial negotiations while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Manage procurement budgets, spending controls, cost analysis and financial planning to ensure effective utilization of company resources.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and service levels with key suppliers and vendors.
• Apply knowledge of basic contract law and negotiation tactics to manage contractual and commercial risks.
• Establish and improve procurement policies, processes, controls and vendor governance to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Work closely with Operations, Finance, HR and other departments to understand business requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of procurement professionals, driving accountability, performance and continuous improvement.
