Responsibilities

• Understand technical data and specifications for design/engineering teams.
• Communicate equipment needs to suppliers.
• Compare prices, specs and delivery dates to determine the best bid.
• Calculate order costs and forward invoices to accounts.
• Maintain knowledge of procurement rules affecting purchases.
• Negotiate with suppliers on price, schedule, quantity and packaging.
• Evaluate vendors and procurement strategies for efficiency and value.
• Review supplier contracts and responsibilities.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders and vendors.
• Prepare and send purchase orders to suppliers and departments.
• Schedule deliveries and resolve shortages with suppliers.
• Review requisitions for accuracy and specifications.
• Maintain purchasing files, reports and price lists.
