Job summary

FLEXTRONICS TECHNOLOGY (PENANG) SDN BHD in Prai, Penang, is seeking a Materials Planning Manager to lead material planning, distribution, inventory control, and supplier coordination.

You will direct site planning activities, ensure timely delivery of materials at economical cost, manage inventory accuracy, and drive improvements in material control systems while collaborating with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Minimum of 8 years of material and manufacturing experience, including supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manage, control, and direct the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Manage, control, and direct staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensure the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, and proper handling and shipping.
• Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and directing staff accordingly.
• Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• Maintain accurate inventory cycle counts and controls.
• Provide for proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Review, plan, and approve purchase orders and change notices.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Dispostion of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel as required.
