Job summary

Flex is seeking a Materials Planning Manager in Prai, Penang to lead site planning, distribution, and inventory control. You will oversee material research, purchasing, and supply chain activities to optimize delivery times and costs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with at least eight years in material/manufacturing roles and supervision experience. Expect a collaborative environment with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of material and manufacturing experience, including supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manage, control, and direct the distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Aim to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, with quality standards.
• Identify suspicious material and ensure proper handling, storage, and delivery.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction by negotiating expectations and directing staff to meet them.
• Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• Ensure accurate inventory cycle counts and controls.
• Ensure proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Review, plan, and approve purchase orders and change notices.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel as required.
