Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Lead Buyer, Direct Materials to own strategic sourcing for mechanical components and direct materials. You will lead category strategies, supplier evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

You will drive cost reduction, analyze BOMs, and manage supplier performance within an international procurement context. Strong negotiation and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement, sourcing, category management, or supply chain within manufacturing.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and category strategy development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for mechanical components to ensure cost competitiveness.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including supplier evaluation, selection, negotiation, and development.
• Drive cost reduction and value engineering through TCO analysis and supplier collaboration.
• Align sourcing with engineering, quality, production, and operations requirements.
• Review BOMs to identify standardization and supplier consolidation opportunities.
• Conduct market intelligence, spend analysis, and supplier benchmarking.
