Job summary

Weida Steel Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned Finance Manager in Sarawak to lead accounting and reporting functions within a manufacturing setting. The role requires a degree in accounting with professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent) and 6–8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–8 years relevant working experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
• Experience in management reporting, cost accounting and budgetary control in a manufacturing environment. Prior group-level experience is an added advantage.
• Team player able to collaborate with people across departments and levels.
• Strong knowledge of financial forecasting and analysis, corporate finance and information analysis.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and set priorities.
• Ability to communicate financial data to non-financial managers to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Cover all spectrums of the finance functions including operational finance, corporate finance, treasury, taxation as well as management reporting
• Close monthly accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports; analyze variances and provide insights to support strategic decisions
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting and reporting; monitor results against forecast and highlight to the respective department
• Evaluate and analyse financial information to ensure effective cost control
• Manage planning and audit activities to ensure completion of internal, statutory and external audits
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for statutory financial reporting including MBRS and tax submissions
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, solicitors, bankers and other authorities
• Undertake ad-hoc duties as required

Education

Degree in Accounting and/ or professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent)
