Job summary

QL Livestock Farming Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned Costing & Inventory Controller to manage product costing, standard costs, and allocations in a manufacturing setting. You will analyze actual versus standard costs, oversee inventory valuation and stock variances, and support budgeting and month-end activities.

The role requires strong Excel and ERP skills, leadership ability, and cross-functional collaboration to drive cost efficiency across the organisation. Based in Kuching, Sabah?

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Accounting or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in costing, management accounting or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation, variance analysis and budgeting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Good leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage product costing, standard costs and cost allocation.
• Monitor and analyse actual vs. standard costs, including variances.
• Oversee inventory costing, valuation, reconciliation, ageing and stock variances.
• Monitor inventory turnover, slow-moving and obsolete stocks, and recommend appropriate actions.
• Review physical stock counts and investigate significant inventory discrepancies.
• Analyse production costs, operational efficiency and profitability by product/business unit.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and work with Operations to improve cost efficiency and inventory controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and month-end costing activities.
• Prepare timely costing, inventory and profitability reports for management decision-making.
• Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve costing and inventory processes.
