Job summary

Cisco Systems in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Materials Planner to own component-level needs across ASICs, Memory, PCB, Power, Optics and MPU. You will translate demand into time-phased component requirements and work with Global Supply Chain to minimize shortages and optimize cost.

Key qualifications include 5+ years in materials or commodity planning, BOM planning experience, and proficiency with SQL, Python, Power BI or Tableau.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in materials planning, component or commodity planning, supply planning, inventory management, or procurement in manufacturing/tech environment.
• Experience with BOM structures, BOM explosion, requirement netting, and multi-site requirements.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau) for scenario modeling and risk analysis.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Own the component-level need for an assigned commodity and translate demand into time-phased component requirements.
• Identify critical components and sense risk early through lead-time trends, deviations and product transitions.
• Own safety stock and buffer strategy for your commodity in partnership with Planning and Global Supplier Management.
