Job summary

Vertiv Malaysia seeks a Commodity Manager to shape sourcing strategies for batteries, racks and transformers. You will lead cost-reduction initiatives, develop supplier relationships, and drive end-to-end procurement programs aligned with business goals.

In this role you will manage RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, negotiate terms, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize the supply base and total cost of ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive experience in Purchasing & Sourcing in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience with batteries, racks and transformers is a plus.
• Solid track record meeting substantial material cost reduction targets.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build cross-functional relationships.
• Detail-oriented, analytical and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Deliver year over year cost savings and productivity.
• Lead product development commodity strategies to improve supply chain efficiencies.
• Provide commodity support to New Product Teams to meet target costs.
• Negotiate and execute purchase orders or supplier contracts as needed.
• Develop measurable KPIs for supplier performance and material flow.
• Manage supplier base to create competitive advantage and cost reductions.
• Define end-to-end strategies focusing on total life cycle management.
• Owner of RFIs, RFPs and RFQs with properly documented terms.
