Job summary

Emerson Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Sourcing professional to lead electronic components procurement across global manufacturing operations. You will develop commodity strategies, build strategic supplier partnerships, and drive negotiations to secure cost-effective, high-quality supply.

This role requires 8+ years in strategic sourcing, strong technical knowledge of electronics, and the ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement in manufacturing.
• Strong technical understanding of electronic components and direct materials sourcing.
• Proven negotiation, supplier relationship, and contract management experience.
• Experience developing commodity strategies, managing supply risks, and driving performance improvements.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple global projects in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies for electronic components to support growth and cost competitiveness.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with global suppliers for continuity and value.
• Lead supplier negotiations, terms, and long-term agreements.
• Monitor market trends and risks to proactively mitigate disruptions.
• Drive supplier performance through KPI reviews and continuous improvement.
• Identify, qualify, and develop new suppliers with engineering and quality teams.
• Partner with Design Engineering and cross-functional teams to support new product introductions.
• Lead sourcing projects and initiatives to meet business objectives.
• Drive cost optimization via value engineering, consolidation, and alternate sourcing.
• Support resolution of critical supply issues with internal and external stakeholders.
