Job summary

UCT is seeking a motivated Buyer to join our Batu Kawan client team on a renewable 6 months contract. The role focuses on negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory, and supporting purchasing policies to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.

Expect to work closely with production and logistics to meet material requirements, with reporting and record-keeping as part of daily duties. Strong SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Familiar with SAP system.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimise costs.
• Proficient in using procurement software and other relevant technologies.
• Organised and detail-oriented with ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with suppliers to secure best pricing, terms and delivery schedules.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure steady supply and minimise excess stock.
• Research new suppliers and products to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with production and logistics teams to meet material requirements.
• Maintain detailed records and provide accurate reporting on purchasing activities.
• Assist in developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures.
