Job summary

PERSOL is seeking a Store Design Development Manager in Malaysia to lead the design development and technical governance of all retail store projects. You will ensure designs align with brand identity, operational requirements, technical standards, and construction quality.

You will lead the design governance, standards, and team development, translating design direction into consistent execution across projects and coaching team members toward high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and acknowledge design drawings and specifications submitted by interior designers, architects, and consultants.
• Develop and maintain design guidelines, standards, and documentation procedures.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to the Store Design team.

TheStoreDesignDevelopmentManagerisresponsibleforleadingthedesigndevelopmentandtechnicalgovernanceofallretailstoreprojects.Thisroleensuresthateverystoredesigncomplieswiththecompany'sbrandidentity,operationalrequirements,technicalstandards,andconstructionquality.TheStoreDesignDevelopmentManageractsasthecompany'sdesignauthoritybyreviewing,verifying,andapprovingalldesigndocumentationsubmittedbyappointedinteriordesignersandconsultantsbeforeconstruction.

TheStoreDesignDevelopmentManagerisresponsibleforleadingthedesign

developmentandtechnicalgovernanceofallretailstoreprojects,whileprovidingdayto-dayleadership,coachinganddirectiontotheStoreDesignteam.

WorkingcloselywiththeSeniorStoreDesignManager,thisroleisresponsiblefortranslatingthedepartment’sdesigndirectionandstandardsintoconsistentexecutionacrossallprojects.Thisroleisalsoexpectedtodevelopthecapabilitiesoftheteam,raisedesignandtechnicalstandards,promoteaccountabilityandguideteammemberstowardsdeliveringhigh-qualityworkindependentlyandconsistently.

KeyResponsibilities

DesignGovernance&TechnicalReview

• •Review,verify,andacknowledgealldesigndrawings,specifications,andtechnicaldocumentssubmittedbyappointedinteriordesigners,architects,andconsultants.
• •Ensurealldrawingsarecomplete,coordinated,buildable,andcompliantwithprovidecleardirectionforrevisions.
• •Approvedesignpackagesateachprojectmilestonepriortoimplementation.

DesignStandards&Guidelines

• •Develop,maintain,andcontinuouslyimprovethecompany'sStoreDesignGuidelines,detailingdesignstandards,materialspecifications,fixture
• •Establishstandarddrawingtemplates,detailingrequirements,anddocumentationproceduresforallappointeddesignconsultants.
• •Ensureallinteriordesignersconsistentlyadheretothecompany'sdesignmanualandbrandstandardsacrossallstoreformats.
• •Conductregularreviewsandupdatedesignstandardsbasedonoperationalfeedback,newconcepts,andindustrybestpractices.

DesignManagement

• •Reviewandapprovematerialsamples,mock-ups,shopdrawings,anddesignpracticalsolutions.

Compliance&QualityAssurance

• •Ensureallstoredesignscomplywithlocalbuildingregulations,firesafetyrequirements,accessibilitystandards,landlordrequirements,andcompanywherenecessary.
• •Strongknowledgeofretailstoreplanning,interiorarchitecture,andconstructiondetailing.
• •Excellentabilitytoreviewandinterpretarchitectural,interiordesign,MEP,andshopdrawings.
• •Highattentiontodetailwithstrongtechnicaljudgment.
