Job summary

Businesslist is seeking a Store Design Development Manager in KL to lead store design governance, standards, and management for new stores and renovations. The role oversees cross-functional coordination with Operations, VM, Leasing, Procurement, Facilities, and Project Management to deliver commercially viable design solutions.

You will mentor the design team, set quality expectations, and drive design excellence while ensuring adherence to brand standards and templates across all store

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of retail store planning, interior architecture, and construction detailing.
• Excellent ability to review and interpret architectural, interior design, MEP, and shop drawings.
• Strong understanding of retail operational requirements and customer journey.
• Ability to develop and enforce design standards and technical guidelines.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and acknowledge design drawings and specs from designers, architects, and consultants.
• Ensure drawings are complete, coordinated, buildable, and compliant with standards.
• Identify design issues and provide clear revision directions.
• Approve design packages at project milestones before implementation.
• Lead concept development, space planning, and design coordination for stores and refurbishments.
• Coordinate with Operations, VM, Leasing, Procurement, Facilities, and PM teams.
• Provide guidance to consultants throughout the design process.
