Job summary

Ruai – House of Sarawak in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Steward to maintain kitchen cleanliness, manage dishwashing, and support daily kitchen operations.

The role involves washing and sanitising dishes, keeping areas clean, handling waste, and assisting with opening/closing duties, with shifts including weekends and public holidays. Previous kitchen or stewarding experience is an advantage but not essential.

Qualifications

• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Experience in kitchen or stewarding is an advantage but not essential.
• Able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise dishes, glassware, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Keep the kitchen, washing area and storage areas clean and organised.
• Dispose of waste correctly and maintain clean rubbish areas.
• Ensure clean equipment and utensils are available for daily operations.
• Assist with receiving and arranging kitchen supplies.
• Support basic kitchen preparation and general duties when required.
• Follow food-safety, hygiene and workplace procedures.
• Report damaged equipment or maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
