Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a State Registered Nurse to join the Diagnostic Imaging Services team. The role involves assisting radiologists during imaging procedures, preparing patients, and ensuring safety and compliance with clinical standards.

You will monitor patients, manage medications and contrast agents, maintain accurate documentation, and educate patients and caregivers. A Diploma in Nursing with RN registration is required, with BLS/ACLS considered advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Nursing.
• Passed LJM and Registered Nurse (RN) is mandatory.
• Basic Life Supports (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists during diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures.

• Provide patient and caregiver education regarding procedures, preparation steps, and post-care instructions.
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job description

STATE REGISTERED NURSE, DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING SERVICES

• Assist radiologists during diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures (e.g., fluoroscopy, angiography, biopsies, drainage, and contrast studies), ensuring patient safety, aseptic practice, smooth workflow, and effective clinical coordination with radiographers.
• Assess, prepare, and support patients before imaging procedures through comprehensive history-taking, vital signs assessment, allergy screening, IV cannulation, medication and contrast preparation, ensuring informed consent, and clear patient education.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including sedation and contrast reaction surveillance, post-procedure recovery, escalation of concerns to clinicians, and initiation of emergency response when required.
• Document and maintain accurate patient records including vital signs, medication and contrast administration, DDA tracking, procedure notes, post-monitoring observations, and shift handover details in compliance with legal, hospital, and accreditation standards.
• Administer medications and contrast agents through approved routes (oral, IV, rectal) in accordance with hospital protocols, radiation safety requirements, and clinical best practices.
• Ensure proper handling and management of medications, consumables, and IV supplies, including stock rotation, temperature monitoring, documentation, and safe disposal.
• Maintain emergency readiness by checking resuscitation equipment, contrast carts, oxygen systems, suction devices, and ensuring all emergency resources are functional at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and support service
• Provide patient and caregiver education regarding procedures, preparation steps, post-care instructions, and follow-up requirements.
