Job summary

Lumentum in Penang, Malaysia seeks a self-motivated Staff Test Engineer to ensure testability and manufacturability of optical components from feasibility to ramp. You will develop and debug complex software and EDA tools for process and test equipment, and contribute to testability design, validation, and yield improvements.

The role requires strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on hardware expertise.

Qualifications

7 years of experience in test engineering, automation, or software development in a hardware environment.
BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, information, or other relevant major.
Strong programming fundamentals and experience with automation.
Hands-on hardware experience and troubleshooting.
Understanding of Gage R&R, correlation, test coverage and qualification.

Responsibilities

Define and develop automated test systems for high-volume production with cross-functional teams.
Develop, implement and release factory test strategies, processes, and tools for CW lasers and ELS.
Perform statistical data analysis and identify root causes for yield improvement.
Drive initiatives for test automation, process improvements and cost reductions.
Lead troubleshooting and FA activities with suppliers and operations to maximize tester uptime.
