Job summary

Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Senior Test Engineering Lead to spearhead the development of complex test systems and tester software for our semiconductor production line. You will drive concept studies, design, budgeting, procurement, and on-time delivery aligned with project milestones.

You will also guide cross-functional engineers, oversee test procedures, calibration, and release processes, and mentor maintenance planning and test fixture concepts to ensure robust production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, tester development, and production test solutions.
• Proven technical leadership with experience leading engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams on test strategy and product requirements.
• Strong expertise in developing, implementing, and optimizing test platforms, methodologies, and manufacturing test solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project tester concept study with CoC, SE and ENG.
• Plan and design overall tester as per concept defined.
• Plan project tester budget and procurement activity.
• Track project budget and ensure equipment cost within the planned budget.
• On time delivery of test systems to the production line according to project milestone (include manage of equipment, hardware interface and mechanical jig and fixture purchase).
• Release the test system according to Test system Release Procedure.
• Train and coach maintenance plan, analysis tool of breakdown causes, Test system setup guideline and test fixture and job design concept.
• To manage procurement plan with involvement of central purchasing, PIR partner and supplier.
• Maintain supplier performance evaluation and ensure supplier’s deliver according to technical specification.
• Responsible on full test implementation according to test procedure according to PAV defined by CoC team and achieve defined test coverage, calibration process.
• To support line for troubleshooting in self setup test system.
• To guide and coach engineer in technical issue.
• Lead and drive in TFOR/ FPY meeting to monitor daily operation test related issue.
• Coordinate change management as per DUT SW release and HW changes
• Analyze MIS data and coordinate improvement activities on test time reduction and machine efficiency.
• Early involved in new model concept discussion with CoC and TEF7, to ensure smooth handling from new project set up team after SOP.
• Plan and liaise with buy off team for test station buy off
• Any other TEF7 related duties assigned.

Job description

1. To setup complex test systems/ test SW solution with new feature for product line based on PAV provided by MFI team accordingly to the following requirement:
   • a) Lead the project tester concept study with CoC, SE and ENG
   • b) To plan and design overall tester as per concept defined
   • c) To plan project tester budget and procurement activity
   • d) To track project budget and ensure equipment cost within the planned budget.
   • e) On time delivery of test systems to the production line according to project milestone (include manage of equipment, hardware interface and mechanical jig and fixture purchase)
   • f) Release the test system according to Test system Release Procedure.
   • g) To train and coach maintenance plan, analysis tool of breakdown causes, Test system setup guideline and test fixture and job design concept)
2. To manage procurement plan with involvement of central purchasing, PIR partner and supplier. Maintain supplier performance evaluation and ensure supplier’s deliver according to technical specification.
3. Responsible on full test implementation according to test procedure according to PAV defined by CoC team and achieve defined test coverage, make sure alignment and calibration process (such as flashing if memory, tuner alignment/ Calibration) is in line with test procedure.
4. To support line for troubleshooting in self setup test system.
5. To guide and coach engineer in technical issue.
6. General support on the following:
   • a) To lead and drive in TFOR/ FPY meeting to monitor daily operation test related issue.
   • b) To coordinate change management as per DUT SW release and HW changes
   • c) To analyze MIS data and coordinate improvement activities on test time reduction and machine effiency.
   • d) Early involved in new model concept discussion with CoC and TEF7, to ensure smooth handling from new project set up team after SOP.
   • e) To plan and liaise with buy off team for test station buy off
7. Any other TEF7 related duties assigned to.

Qualifications

5 to 10 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, tester development, and production test solutions.

Proven technical leadership with experience leading engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams on test strategy and product requirements.

Strong expertise in developing, implementing, and optimizing test platforms, methodologies, and manufacturing test solutions.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.
