Job summary

SanDisk is seeking a Staff Product Development Engineer (Module) in Penang, Malaysia. Work involves designing test plans for 3D NAND-based modulesystems, developing platforms, and ensuring hardware/software compatibility.

The role requires extensive experience in product engineering and failure analysis within semiconductor ICs. Applicants should have advanced degrees in E&E or Telecommunication and strong proficiency with ATE systems for module/system testing.

• PhD/MSc/MEng/Degree in E&E or Telecommunication.

Responsibilities

• Participates in designing a complete comprehensive framework of Functional Product Test Plan for module/system based on 3D NAND technology.
• Contributes to designing processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Specialization in module/system test plans, process, test equipment's; proficiency in using module/system level ATE is a must.
• Conducts failure analysis on qualification failures and supports root-cause investigations.
• Influences future products by contributing to the architecture/framework used across multiple products.
• Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and troubleshooting procedures for NPIs in product development and manufacturing.
• Provides technical expertise for next generation initiatives and product characterization parameters.
• Plans labor, schedules, and equipment for testing standard and special devices.

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in designing a complete comprehensive framework of Functional Product Test Plan for module/system based on 3D NAND technology.
• Participates in designing processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Specialization in module/system test plans, process, test equipment's is highly desirable. Proficiency in using module/system level ATE is a must.
• Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses.
• Failure analysis on qualification failures
• Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
• Participates in designing, developing, and implementing effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for NPI phases of product development and manufacturing.
• Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
• Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.
• Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
• Participates in evaluating test strategy to best fit the quality-of-test for new product
• Develops Product characterization parameters by using test platform or instrumentation
• Performs analytical study by using statistical tools – SPC/MiniTab/JMP, conduct FMEA, custom DOE, prepare and liaise with other support Engineering groups for efficient manufacturing test platform
• Analyzing, troubleshooting and fixing issues discovered by internal test teams or by customer use of the products.
• Representing the team in one or more multi-disciplined engineering core team(s).

Qualifications

Preferred

• PhD/MSc/MEng/Degree in E&E or Telecommunication.
• Minimum 10+ Years of experience in Product Engineering/Failure analysis & Semiconductor IC
• Proficiency in using module/system level ATE is a must.

Skills

• Candidate with deep HBM product development experience will have advantage.
• Candidates with deep electronics knowledge will have advantage.
