Job summary

Sandisk is seeking a Senior Test Engineer in Penang, Malaysia, to own test development for KGD wafer‑level flash memory products and drive improvements in yield, quality and test cost. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on semiconductor test, product engineering, or yield engineering experience.
• Proven track record leading root-cause investigations and delivering measurable improvements.
• Strong knowledge of CMOS and Flash memories; ability to troubleshoot with data-driven methods.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Lead technical ownership of KGD wafer-level flash memory test development, failure analysis, debug, and manufacturing support for advanced NAND products, driving improvements in yield, quality, reliability, and test cost throughout the product lifecycle.

• Lead root-cause investigations for complex yield, quality, reliability, and manufacturing excursions, driving containment and permanent corrective actions.

• Interface with design, process, test, and reliability engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.

• Sustain and improve existing products through cost reduction initiatives and yield enhancement.

• Define correct test conditions and develop test flows to meet volume production testing requirements for advanced memory devices.

• Plan and execute product evaluation and design of experiments (DOE) focused on reliability, DPPM reduction, and die sort yield improvement.

• Perform test time analysis to optimize test methods for cost efficiency while maintaining strict quality standards.

• Develop and implement test strategies to enable rapid ramp-up of new products into high-volume manufacturing.

• Collaborate with global new product definition teams and lead assigned projects to support the successful introduction of new products to market.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on semiconductor test, product engineering, or yield engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex technical problem solving and high-volume manufacturing challenges.

• Proven track record leading root-cause investigations and delivering measurable improvements in yield, quality, test cost, or manufacturing efficiency.

• Strong knowledge of CMOS and electronic circuits; experience with Flash Memories (NAND or NOR) is preferred.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues using structured, data-driven problem-solving approaches.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities.

PREFERRED:

• Experience with NAND Flash, KGD, Wafer Sort, Probe, Non-Volatile Memory testing, and Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA).

• Demonstrated success in yield ramp, DPPM reduction, and test cost optimization.

• Expertise in statistical analysis, DOE, SPC, JMP, and large-scale manufacturing data analytics.

• Experience developing automated engineering solutions using Python, SQL, or machine learning techniques.

• Experience serving as a technical lead for new product introductions.

SKILLS:

• Experience using Python, SQL, JMP, or similar tools for engineering data analysis and automation.

• Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions, challenge assumptions with data, and drive complex issues to closure.
