Job summary

Columbia Asia Hospital - Batu Kawan is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide first aid, advanced clinical care, and lifesaving medications. You will triage, stabilize, and monitor patients, while collaborating with doctors and the emergency team to ensure high-quality care.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of nursing experience, a post-basic certificate in Emergency Nursing, and a valid APC. English and Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with at least 2 years' experience.
• Post-basic certificate in Emergency Nursing preferred.
• Valid annual practicing certificate.
• Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid, triage, and stabilize patients.
• Administer medications as instructed by doctors.
• Perform nursing care and therapeutic measures.
• Create and maintain patient records.
• Collaborate with emergency staff to assist patients.
• Perform minor procedures such as wound cleaning, blood draws, IV infusion.
• Transfer stable patients to other departments.
• Ensure accurate handover of patient information.
• Participate in discharge planning with doctors and family.
• Manage mortuary services per hospital procedures.

Job description

To provide first aid, advanced clinical care, and lifesaving medications; assess and triage patients;

allocate resources; and monitor ongoing physical and mental health needs, stabilize their vital signs and limit pain and discomfort.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ready to respond promptly to deal with a medical emergency.

2. Triage incoming patients based on level of injury or illness and immediately stabilize incoming patients.

3. Quickly assess the patient needs, clinical priorities and initiative the intervention when necessary.

4. Assist doctors treating critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma.

5. Administer medication as instructed by doctors.

6. Perform nursing care and therapeutic measures conforming to current standard nursing practice.

7. Create and maintain incoming patient records.

8. Work with teams of emergency staff to help patients.

9. Perform minor procedure eg cleaning wounds, drawing blood, IV infusion, removal of cast and others as applicable.

10 Assist and transfer stable patients to other department or admission.

12 Ensure complete and accurate information is handed over together with patient to other receiving hospital.

14 Participate in discharge planning with the doctor, patient and family and resource people as appropriate.

15. Educate patient and family according to their needs.

16. Guide and direct activities of co-workers as they provide patient care.

17. Participate in nursing and hospital orientation programs.

18. Manage of brought in dead patient according to statutory procedure.

19. Assist to manage the mortuary services as according to the hospital, regulatory and ethical requirements.

20. Monitor and accurately record body release information.

21. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Requirements:

Registered Nurse with at least 2 years' experience.

Preferably a post-basic certificate in advanced diploma in Emergency Nursing.

Valid annual practicing certificate.

Able to communicate well in both written and spoken English language and Bahasa Malaysia.
