Job summary

Infineon Technologies is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Product Engineering team in Malaysia. The role focuses on driving product yield, quality, reliability, and cost performance in a high-volume semiconductor environment.

You will collaborate across FE/BE, assembly, and manufacturing to resolve issues, implement robust test strategies, and lead productivity and cost-saving initiatives. The position requires strong analytical skills and leadership to guide junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in semiconductors or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of product engineering, manufacturing processes, and test methodologies.
• Experience in yield improvement, quality management, reliability engineering, and failure analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with root-cause analysis.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for global cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ownership and leadership in delivering results.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving product yield, quality, reliability, and cost performance in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Your role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Drive yield improvement, cost optimization, and quality enhancement for assigned products..
• Collaborate with Front-End (FE), Back-End (BE), Assembly, Manufacturing and Business Divisions to resolve product and production issues.
• Ensure products meet quality and reliability standards through robust test strategies, Statistical Bin Analysis (SBA), test workflow optimization, and test program controls.
• Manage Lot on Hold (LOH) assessment and disposition to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Support new product releases, stable production ramp-up, FE qualifications, and technology transfer activities.
• Lead productivity improvement projects including test time reduction, test insertion optimization, package optimization, burn-in reduction, and other cost-saving initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments and support deviation management, change management, and product release reviews to ensure safe and reliable product delivery.
• Perform yield analysis, fault analysis, and root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D.
• Drive containment, corrective, and preventive actions to address product and process issues.
• Lead cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business targets and operational excellence.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of working experience in the semiconductor or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor product engineering, manufacturing processes, and test methodologies.
• Experience in yield improvement, quality management, reliability engineering, and failure analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and willingness to take responsibility for product performance and business results.
• Strong product technical expertise with the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
• Proven leadership capability in driving projects and achieving project goals.
