Job summary

Infineon Technologies in Malaysia seeks a Staff Engineer for Component Verification to lead product characterization, drive validation plans, and provide expert feedback to development and transfer teams. Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Microelectronics, Mechatronics, or Semiconductor Technology).
• More than 3 years of experience in Semiconductor Component Verification/Validation and/or Device Testing.
• Proficiency in statistical data analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in using laboratory measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, and source meters.
• Experience in VBA, LabVIEW, or Python for hardware and equipment programming.
• Sound knowledge of schematic reading and electronic circuit interpretation.
• Strong aptitude for engineering analysis, problem-solving, and solution development.
• Good knowledge of MOSFET products, including operating principles, device characteristics, switching behavior, parasitic effects, and performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of MOSFET device physics, including semiconductor fundamentals, device operation, electrical characteristics, reliability mechanisms, and application behavior in power and analog circuits.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the characterization process for products under assigned responsibility, playing a key role in Product Development, Product Transfer, and Cost Reduction projects.
• Provide characterization feedback to Product Development, Transfer, Cost Reduction, and Application teams for both new and existing products.
• Develop and execute electrical characterization validation plans, including the establishment of new measurement methodologies when required.
• Perform product characterization through electrical bench measurements and comprehensive electrical data analysis.
• Prepare characterization reports and present conclusive results during team reviews and technical discussions.
• Serve as the technical lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) where applicable; product expertise in MOSFET technology is an added advantage.
• Participate in and contribute technical knowledge sharing at local and global Component Verification (CV) community conferences and forums.
• Set up, maintain, and manage characterization laboratory equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted laboratory operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce CV cycle time by developing automation solutions and leveraging AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency.
• Support characterization laboratory management activities, including preparation for internal and external audits.
