Job summary

Micron Technology in Penang, Batu Kawan, is seeking a software‑oriented test engineer to develop and maintain test programs for high‑volume SSD manufacturing. You will design validation tests for new products, optimize methods to cut test times and costs, and automate processes with scripts.

You will collaborate with product and equipment teams to improve yields, mentor junior engineers, and apply AI/ML concepts to boost productivity and decision making in a fast-paced factory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Interest in software development with strong programming skills (Python/C/C++) and Perl.
• Experience with debugging test programs and automation.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and data analytics is a plus.
• Experience in NAND/SSD/test programs is advantageous.
• Startup/greenfield factory exposure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test programs for Micron SSD products in high-volume manufacturing.
• Design and validate test programs for new products during start-up phases.
• Optimize test programs to reduce test times and manufacturing costs.
• Automate test engineering processes with software scripts.
• Enhance test coverage for quality and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with product and equipment engineering to improve yields and ROI.
• Mentor junior engineers and transfer knowledge to teams.
