Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of materials and components for its manufacturing operations in a global context. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, supplier compliance, and contributing to NPI readiness across cross-functional teams.

The candidate will lead supplier quality initiatives, perform audits, and review PPAP/FAI submissions while collaborating with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of supplier quality engineering in manufacturing, preferably electronics.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF16949 quality systems.
• Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies (8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, Six Sigma, Lean).
• Experience conducting supplier audits and assessments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites as required.
• Proficiency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance programs and procedures.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and qualifications to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, AS9100, IATF16949).
• Investigate and resolve complex supplier quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, SCAR).
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics (PPM, OTD, scrap) and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing on NPI and design changes for supplier readiness.
• Review and approve supplier PPAP/FAI submissions and other quality documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers to improve quality systems and processes.
• Lead supplier development activities including training and capability building.
• Prepare and present supplier quality reports to management.

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics (e.g., PPM, OTD, scrap rates) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams on new product introduction (NPI) and design changes to ensure supplier readiness and quality.
• Review and approve supplier PPAP/FAI submissions and other quality documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to improve their quality systems and processes.
• Lead supplier development activities, including training and capability building.
• Prepare and present supplier quality reports and performance reviews to management.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent).
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
• Proven experience conducting supplier audits and assessments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to travel to supplier sites as required.
