Job summary

Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a seasoned Supplier Quality Manager to lead the Supplier Quality team, drive SQMS implementation, and mitigate supplier-related risks. You will mentor engineers and work with procurement and engineering to raise supplier performance.

You will conduct supplier audits, develop KPIs, lead root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement using APQP, PPAP, SPC, and Six Sigma. English proficiency essential; travel to supplier sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of supplier quality engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably electronics.
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Proficient in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, 5 Whys, and Six Sigma.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with stakeholder collaboration.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and Technicians.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Jabil's Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS) in alignment with corporate and site-specific requirements.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for supplier quality, driving root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for non-conformances.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with Jabil's quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage supplier qualification, selection, and de-selection processes in collaboration with procurement and engineering teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers, including implementing SPC, lean methodologies, and APQP.
• Facilitate the resolution of critical supplier quality issues, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers.
• Approve supplier deviations, waivers, and engineering change requests related to supplier quality.
• Prepare and present regular reports on supplier quality performance to management.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes impacting supplier quality.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field within a manufacturing environment (preferably electronics manufacturing).
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong understanding and practical application of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, 5 Whys, and Six Sigma.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
