Job summary

Renesas is seeking a Product Engineer to sustain power IC products through their lifecycle in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with design, test, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues, improve yields, and extend product lifecycles.

The role focuses on sustaining engineering, cost efficiency, and manufacturability, with on‑site work in Penang. Excellent English communication and experience with IC processes are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience in Product Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic, Physics, Computer or related field.
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis; JMP familiarity.
• Strong cost, ROI and efficiency focus.
• Familiar with Integrated Circuit semiconductor process.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Product testing knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of Driver/Power Stage modules is a plus.
• NPI Product Engineering experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sustain multiple products lifecycle, production and compliance across high‑volume manufacturing.
• Drive COGS improvement and process optimization (yield, test time, failures).
• Support product qualifications, second-source changes, and process migrations.
• Dispostion of abnormal or low yielding lots and production issues.
• Interface cross-functionally with Operations, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT.
• Monitor and resolve manufacturing and test issues with fab/assembly/test sites.
• Analyze product performance, failure modes, and reliability for customer returns (RMA/FA).

Job description

Sr Product Engineers ensures product continuity after mass production by manage products lifecycle, resolving production/ customer issues, and improving COGS. We are seeking a Product Engineer to join our team with a primary focus on sustaining engineering activities. This role is critical in ensuring the long‑term quality, reliability, and manufacturability of our power IC products. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including design, test, manufacturing, and quality to support mature products in high‑volume production, drive yield improvement, resolve customer issues, and extend product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Sustain multiple products lifecycle, production and compliance. Oversees high volume PCP Products mass production manufacturing across all internal factory and subcons
• Sustaining Product COGS improvement and process optimization such as Yield/Volume/Test Time/failure improvements. Improve Test process and prevent potential quality excursions.
• Manage and mitigate risk in PCRB (Process Change Review Board) to keep delivery by supporting product qualifications, second‑source/material changes, and process migrations/improvements.
• Disposition of abnormal lots, low yielding lots or production issues
• Cross function interface with Operation, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT
• Monitor and resolve manufacturing and test issues, working closely with fab, assembly, and test sites.
• Analyze product performance, failure modes, and reliability to support customer returns (RMA/FA).

Qualifications

• At least have a minimum of 3 years' experience in Product Engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree Engineering in Electrical/Electronic, Physics, Computer or related fields
• Need to work onsite.
• Proficient in Data manipulation and analysis skill. Familiar with JMP, PDF Exenso is a plus.
• Product Management skill. Strong sense of Cost, ROI and efficiency
• Familiar with Integrated Circuit semiconductor process
• Must have Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Highly self-motivated, adaptable and good time management skill
• Having Product Test Knowledge is a plus.
• Having knowledge of Products, IC, modules such as Driver, Power Stage is a plus.
• Having experience in Development NPI Product Engineering is a plus.
