Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Sr Product Engineer to sustain products after mass production, drive reliability and manufacturability of power IC devices, and collaborate with design, test, manufacturing and quality teams.

You will manage product lifecycles, support qualifications, and push improvements in yield, test time, and costs while resolving customer issues and extending product lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Product Engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic, Physics, Computer or related fields.
• Onsite work is required in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia.
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis; familiarity with JMP is a plus.
• Strong product management skills with focus on cost, ROI and efficiency.
• Familiar with integrated circuit semiconductor processes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Highly self-motivated with good time management.
• Experience in product testing knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of products, IC modules such as Driver and Power Stage is a plus.
• Experience in Development NPI Product Engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sustain multiple products lifecycle in high-volume manufacturing.
• Drive yield improvement and COGS optimization.
• Resolve production and customer issues; monitor test and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with design, test, manufacturing and quality teams.
• Manage risk in PCRB and support qualifications and process changes.
• Disposition of abnormal or low-yield lots; resolve production issues.
• Analyze product performance, failure modes, and reliability for RMAs/FA.

We are seeking a Product Engineer to join our team with a primary focus on sustaining engineering activities. This role is critical in ensuring the long-term quality, reliability, and manufacturability of our power IC products. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including design, test, manufacturing, and quality to support mature products in high-volume production, drive yield improvement, resolve customer issues, and extend product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Sustain multiple products lifecycle, production and compliance. Oversees high volume PCP Products mass production manufacturing across all internal factory and subcons
• Sustaining Product COGS improvement and process optimization such as Yield/Volume/Test Time/failure improvements. Improve Test process and prevent potential quality excursions.
• Manage and mitigate risk in PCRB (Process Change Review Board) to keep delivery by supporting product qualifications, second-source/material changes, and process migrations/improvements.
• Disposition of abnormal lots, low yielding lots or production issues
• Cross function interface with Operation, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT
• Monitor and resolve manufacturing and test issues, working closely with fab, assembly, and test sites.
• Analyze product performance, failure modes, and reliability to support customer returns (RMA/FA)

Qualifications

• At least have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Product Engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree Engineering in Electrical/Electronic, Physics, Computer or related fields
• Need to work onsite.
• Proficient in Data manipulation and analysis skill. Familiar with JMP, PDF Exenso is a plus.
• Product Management skill. Strong sense of Cost, ROI and efficiency
• Familiar with Integrated Circuit semiconductor process
• Must have Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Highly self-motivated, adaptable and good time management skill
• Having Product Test Knowledge is a plus.
• Having knowledge of Products, IC, modules such as Driver, Power Stage is a plus.
• Having experience in Development NPI Product Engineering is a plus.
