Job summary

SUPER MICRO COMPUTER MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Kulai, Malaysia. The role focuses on quality assurance across supplier and production processes and requires a background in engineering and quality discipline.

You will work with Production, Engineering, and Supplier Quality to drive data-driven improvements, audits, and SOP/WI updates, with exposure to SMT processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering preferred; Master’s is a plus.
• Around 3 years of hands-on quality or related experience in quality roles.
• Familiarity with quality tools, statistics, and structured problem-solving.
• Exposure to SMT processes and supplier quality audits is advantageous.
• Experience with SOP or WI development and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support quality improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
• Participate in internal, process, or supplier quality audits.
• Assist SOP/WI development and updates.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering and Supplier Quality to resolve quality issues.

Job description

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Computer, Communication, or a related discipline) is preferred; a Master’s degree will be considered an added advantage, with around 5 years of relevant engineering or quality-related experience being desirable.
• Around 3 years of hands-on or practical exposure in areas such as customer support, customer quality, product quality engineering, or product test engineering is preferable and viewed as an advantage to the candidate.
• Working knowledge or exposure to quality tools, basic statistics, and structured problem-solving techniques is desirable and considered value-added.
• Experience or familiarity with microelectronics or surface mount technology (SMT) processes is preferred and will be treated as an added advantage.
• Experience or exposure in supporting quality audits (e.g., internal, process, or supplier audits) and follow-up actions is preferable and considered an added value.
• Familiarity with SOP or Work Instruction (WI) development, review, or improvement activities is desirable, with hands-on involvement being an advantage to the candidate.
• Ability or willingness to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Production, Engineering, Supplier Quality) to support quality improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making is preferred.
