Job summary

TE Connectivity in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a skilled Manufacturing Process Development professional to define, review, and optimize end-to-end manufacturing processes. You will lead DFM reviews, PFMEA initiation, and drive process documentation and qualification for tooling and equipment.

You will coach operators and technicians, coordinate pilot runs for new products, and ensure process capability meets engineering, quality, and customer requirements while pursuing continuous improvement using

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering with related background and 7 years' work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define, review and confirm the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
  • Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review and initiate PFMEA with core team.
  • Prepare documentation and process specifications for production.
  • Lead team in identifying and resolving engineering issues using FACA.
  • Drive continuous manufacturing process improvement with TE tools for cost reduction.
  • Evaluate new tool, fixture and equipment demand/cost for new projects.
  • Design and review tooling with core team, meeting TE engineering and EHS requirements.
  • Upload tooling prints to TE data management system (DM.TEC, PDMLink, etc.).
  • Discuss and review tool/fixture/equipment details with outside suppliers.
  • Coordinate purchasing process to fabricate new tooling and equipment.
  • Qualify manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Coordinate pilot runs for new products and solve engineering issues to meet requirements.
  • Coach, train and develop operators and technicians for sustained capability.

Job description

Implements manufacturing techniques, processes, tools, and machinery to maximize throughput; performs research on products and manufacturing processes and shares the same with senior engineers.

1. Manufacturing Process Development
  • (i) Define, review and confirm the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
  • (ii) Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review, and initiate Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with core team members.
  • (iii) Prepare documentations and process specifications for production.
  • (iv) Lead team in identification, tracking and resolution of engineering issues using the Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA) form.
  • (v) Continuous manufacturing process improvement with TEOA tools for cost reduction.
2. Assembly Tool, Fixture and Equipment Development
  • (i) Evaluate new tool, fixture, and equipment demand/cost for new projects.
  • (ii) Design and review the tool, fixture and equipment with core team members meeting TE engineering and EHS requirement.
  • (iii) Upload all tooling prints to TE data management system(DM.TEC, PDMLink, etc.)
  • (iv) Discuss and review details of tool/fixture/equipment with outside supplier.
  • (v) Follow up the purchasing process to fabricate new tool/fixture/equipment.
3. Qualification for Manufacturing process, Tool, Fixture, and Equipment
  • (i) Condition all tool, fixture and equipment, lead the tool/fixture/equipment qualification by running samples or LVM.
  • (ii) Follow up the documentations for qualification, using TE standard format and follow up the approval.
  • (iii) Coordinate pilot run for new products and solve engineering issues, make sure the manufacturing process capability meet engineering, quality and customer requirement.
  • Coach, train and develop operator and technician in order to ensure their technique could be succeed and get continuous upgraded.

  1. Bachelor degree in engineering with related background. 7 years’ working experiences in related field.
