Job summary

TE Connectivity in Malaysia (Petaling Jaya) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in PBL to analyze and solve production engineering and new project qualification issues. You will ensure on-time launch of new projects, support design reviews, DFMs/PFMEA, and supplier qualification across cross-functional teams and suppliers.

You will lead Micro Lite projects, coordinate with Sourcing, SQE, and PDE, and drive productivity improvements, process yields, and safe launch processes with cross-functional

Qualifications

• Balchelor degree and mechanical related background
• Total working experience 8 years above
• Over 5 years Connector and/or Cable manufacturing engineering experiences

Responsibilities

• Supplier Engineering Capability: Support Sourcing for new supplier qualification
• Supplier Engineering Capability: Support Sourcing for supplier exit
• Supplier Engineering Capability: Support SQE for supplier audit
• Supplier Engineering Capability: Supplier assessment to improve supplier capability
• As project leader (for Micro Lite project), manage new project for on schedule approval
• As manufacturing engineer, support supplier for DFM and PFMEA preparation and design review
• As manufacturing engineer, support supplier for process and tool design and qualification
• Follow up sample making issues and sample schedule requested by customer or PDE; work with cross function team members and supplier for improvement until approval
• Work with PBL suppliers for packing design and qualification test
• Work with supplier to get all engineering documents done
• Work with SQE and supplier for safe launch process audit
• Work with Sourcing for new product stable quotation
• Follow up EC change and 4M change
• Follow material change (alternative); work with team members to lead new material qualification progress
• Follow supplier change or migration project (from TE plant to PBL supplier); work with cross function team members and supplier to follow qualification

Job Overview

Analyze and solve production engineering and new project qualification issues with the objective of ensuring new project launch on time and the production by order and improving the efficiency within the supervision of Sr. Manager PBL organization. As a PBL manufacturing engineer to work with cross functions and PBL suppliers, to respond for the new products’ quotation and process design and sample qualification, and to support sourcing to drive productivity and on time delivery etc. Train and support PBL supplier to improve their capability.

Sustain Product

• Work with Sourcing and supplier to review and improve capacity, including leading cross tool qualification
• Work with SQE and supplier to improve process yield and any quality problems
• Follow EC change and 4M change
• Follow material change (alternative); work with team members to lead new material qualification progress
• Follow supplier change or migration project (from TE plant to PBL supplier); work with cross function team members and supplier to follow qualification

Productivity

• Work with suppliers and team members to find improvement opportunities such as process, material, plating, packing
• Follow VAVE project; work with supplier and team members to drive the project and cost reduction
• Support Sourcing for cost reduction negotiation

Capex Management and Equipment Maintenance

• Follow capex qualification, and work with Finance and Sourcing and PBL supplier to manage those capex well
• Support PBL supplier to prepare equipment and tool maintenance plan and monitor the plan conducted well by supplier
